URGENT ACTION – Stop NM2 and build Marian St Theatre NOW

10 June 2026

A motion before Ku-ring-gai Council on this coming Tuesday 16 June could put the future of Marian St Theatre at risk.

In simple terms, the motion proposes commissioning yet another report while allowing the approved Development Application (DA) for Marian St to lapse.

This matters because Council has already spent more than $1.4 million developing, consulting on and securing approval for the current design. If the DA expires, that work – and that investment – will need to be repeated in the future, adding further delays and costs.

After more than 20 years of reports, studies and consultation, the community deserves action.

There is already an approved design for Marian St Arts Centre. What is needed now is a commitment to deliver it.

What can you do?

Contact Ku-ring-gai Councillors before the meeting on 16 June. Voices from residents are particularly powerful.

We encourage supporters to ask Councillors to:

1. Oppose any motion that would allow the DA to lapse.

2. Protect the investment already made in Marian St Theatre.
Council has already spent more than $1.4 million on planning, consultation and design work.

3. Support reopening Marian St Arts Centre.
Share why Marian St matters to you personally. Your story and connection to the theatre can be incredibly powerful.
